Chelsea linked with Porto star

The Daily Star have linked with Chelsea with a possible move for Fernando after his agent suggested the Porto midfielder is likely to move to England.

Manchester United and Arsenal are also said to be interested in the 26-year-old, who was reportedly close to joining Manchester City before the January transfer deadline.

Barcelona are again linked with David Luiz, this time by the Mirror, who say the Catalan giants rate him at £22m and fear Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will not want to sell to them.

Mourinho will take no chances with the fitness of defenders John Terry and Gary Cahill for Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Manchester City, the Daily Telegraph reports.

The Mirror claim Mourinho is willing to risk an embarrassing exit from the tournament by resting key players for the game.

He is tipped to select Ashley Cole, John Obi Mikel, Frank Lampard, Andre Schurrle, Mohamed Salah and the fit-again Fernando Torres, leaving out the likes of Eden Hazard and Oscar.

Meanwhile, Metro claim Chelsea are ready to offer Fernando Torres to his former club Atletico Madrid as part of an exchange deal involving striker Diego Costa.
