The Daily Mail say Chelsea are trying to poach teenage striker George Hirst from Sheffield Wednesday.

West Ham, Newcastle, Southampton and Leeds United are also said to be interested in the 17-year-old son of former England and Wednesday striker David Hirst.

Meanwhile, Liverpool and Manchester United want Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen, the Daily Express claim.

The newspaper repeats comments made three weeks ago by Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl, who indicated that the German club are keen to sign Christensen on a permanent deal.

Danish centre-back Christensen, 19, has impressed while on loan at Gladbach and there has been speculation over his future.

With Antonio Conte widely reported to be close to getting the Chelsea manager’s job, The Sun declare that Blues owner Roman Abramovich plans to give the Italian £130m to spend on transfers.
