Ancelotti ready to return to Chelsea, Sun reports

Carlo Ancelotti has again been touted for a return to Chelsea, this time by The Sun.

The newspaper suggested earlier this week that Jose Mourinho’s position as Blues boss was safe despite speculation about his future, reporting that the Portuguese still had the backing of club owner Roman Abramovich.

But now it is claimed Mourinho’s job hangs by a thread following the Capital One Cup defeat against Stoke.

And Ancelotti, who was sacked by Abramovich in 2011, is said to be interested in taking over for a second spell at Stamford Bridge.

The Daily Mail also say Mourinho is on thin ice following Chelsea’s loss and could be axed if his team lose against Liverpool on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Daily Express continue to link Chelsea with a possible move for Isco, who is reported to have told Real Madrid he wants to leave.

And Metro are still linking Chelsea with Paris St-Germain striker Edinson Cavani.
