Conte’s on a roll and Chelsea should be too good for Watford

Chelsea’s narrow but deserved win against West Ham on Monday means Blues Antonio Conte has lost just one of his last 31 league games as a club manager.charlie-mcCann_Aff

Now he goes head-to-head with old foe Walter Mazzari at Vicarage Road.

The pair met seven times in Serie A, with the Hornets boss successful once in their first encounter and Conte winning three and drawing three of the following six.

The Blues are 7/10 to make it two wins out of two in the Premier League, with the hosts 19/4 and the draw 11/4 at BetVictor.

These are early days of course, but there were encouraging signs at the Bridge on Monday.

Eden Hazard has now scored five in his last six league games, having gone 29 without a goal previously.

Incidentally, it looks as if Chelsea’s interest in bringing back Romelu Lukaku from Everton has cooled – he’s now even-money to rejoin them during this transfer window.

You could argue that if the club keep Diego Costa (12/1 to be Premier League top scorer) then another striker is hardly a priority, with summer signing Michy Batshuayi looking sharp in his brief cameo against the Hammers.

Chelsea are 5/1 for the title (from 6s) and this is a game they ought to win. I think they will.
