Bayer Leverkusen determined to keep hold of Schurrle – report
German newspaper Express claim Chelsea will spend £22m on Andre Schurrle, with Kevin De Bruyne joining Bayer Leverkusen on loan as part of the deal.
But Leverkusen boss boss Sami Hyypia is reluctant to let the Germany forward leave.
“Every coach wants to keep the best players of his team,” Hyypia is quoted as saying.
“We will certainly try and keep him. Andre has shown how important he is for us.”
The UK’s Daily Express pick up on the German media reports and suggest Chelsea are in pole position to sign Schurrle.
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho wants £12m a year, Frank Lampard to stay, and Chelsea to have secured a Champions League place if he is to return to Stamford Bridge as manager this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.
And The Sun report that Blues striker Fernando Torres plans to stay at the club until at least 2016.
