Chelsea linked with striker bid

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is planning a £48m bid for Napoli’s Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain, The Sun say.

Higuain, 26, only joined Napoli in the summer from Real Madrid, where he played under Mourinho.

But it is claimed that Mourinho is desperate to be reunited with him and that the Italian club are ready to do a deal to sell.

Napoli apparently see a quick sale as good business as it would mean they would make a £13.5m profit on a player they bought for a reported £34.5m.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s Ramires has apparently told Portuguese newspaper Ojogo he believes the club should re-sign Nemanja Matic.

The midfielder, who left to join Benfica as part of the deal which took David Luiz to Stamford Bridge in 2011, has been linked with a return.

And Ramires is quoted as saying: “If it depends on me then I would sign Matic on January 1.

“I’m convinced with him in the team he would help us our obtain our objectives.”
