Blues boss may consider deal to sell Mata to Man Utd – report
There is more speculation over the future of Juan Mata in Sunday’s newspapers, with Manchester United again linked with the Spaniard.
It is suggested in the Mail on Sunday that United could table a bid for him before the end of the month and that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho may be willing to sell for at least £20m.
Mourinho, it is claimed, could be interested in a deal because he does not regard United as a title rival and may also try to land Wayne Rooney in exchange.
The Sunday People say United have made contact about a possible £20m deal for Mata and that Atletico Madrid are also keen. Chelsea are said to value him at £30m.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are again linked with Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez, with the People reporting that he would cost £20m.
The Blues are apparently chasing Niguez along with Manchester United and Arsenal.
And the Sunday Express claim Southampton left-back Luke Shaw has told friends he wants to join Chelsea in a £30m deal.
Shaw is said to want talks with Saints owner Katharina Liebherr but is tipped to stop short of asking for a transfer.
