Chelsea are a better side than City and can prove it on Sunday

Chelsea travel to the Etihad to face Manchester City knowing a win would take them to within a point of last year’s champions.charlie-mcCann_Aff

At the start of the season it would have taken a brave man to say that the sides would so far behind Manchester United in the table at this stage – and both out of the Champions League.

Chelsea are 31/10 to maintain their decent recent run with City evens and the draw at 11/4 at BetVictor.

City scored four against Leeds but they have been largely inconsistent and hardly deserved their point against Liverpool in their last home game.

Roberto Mancini’s side, of course, have longer to prepare for the game given they don’t have the distraction of Europa League football, but I would still be disappointed if Chelsea didn’t get a point in Manchester.

Sergio Aguero is 5/1 to score the opening goal with Fernando Torres 7s and Frank Lampard 19/2.

I have never been convinced by City and insist Chelsea are the second best side in the league despite those dropped points at Newcastle and Reading and at home to Southampton.

We are the only firm betting on the man of the match market as given by Sky and Juan Mata is 13/2, Lampard 12s, Eden Hazard 14s and John Terry 16s.

Note we will refund bets on selected markets if there is a red card in the game. Check betvictor.com for details.
