Chairman Fernandes laments ‘bad day’ after QPR suffer surprise defeat

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes described the team’s display at Doncaster as a “bad day at the office” following the 2-1 defeat.

Paul Quinn’s last-minute goal completed a fine comeback by the underdogs, who went behind to Charlie Austin’s first-half opener.

Fernandes, who was at the game, tweeted: “Bad day at the office. But some good lessons there for Harry and the team.”

Chief executive Philip Beard added: “Feels like we lost 2 points today but 10 wins, 5 draws, 2 defeats is a start most of us would have taken at the start of the season.”

They face Bournemouth at Loftus Road on Tuesday and midfielder Joey Barton wrote:”Well, basically that was just not a good enough team performance 2nd half. Reaction needed tues evening.”

And former R’s star David Bardsley tweeted: “Surprising result today, makes the Tuesday game very important, the odd loss has to happen,as long as we win the home games we will be ok. Rss.”

Meanwhile, QPR youngster Tom Hitchcock’s loan spell at Crewe began with 1-0 win at home to Crawley.

“Great 3 points. Lads were lej. Happy to make my debut #3points,” he declared.
