Brentford v Brighton player ratings

Brentford were held to their first goalless draw since October 2014 in the 0-0 with Brighton. Here’s how we rated the Bees players att Griffin Park.

David Button: 7
Had only a few routine saves to make, mainly in the first half. Almost caught out by a wind-assisted kick from opposite number David Stockdale at one point.

Nico Yennaris: 8
Came back in after Maxime Colin was ruled out and was very impressive. Strong in the tackle and got forward well, putting in one particularly dangerous cross which fizzed across goal.

James Tarkowski: 9
An excellent display at the back and sprang forward to start attacking moves at times too. Also had a couple of headers on goal, one brilliantly saved by Stockdale.

Harlee Dean: 7
A solid performance against the in-form Brighton pair of Tomer Hemed and James Wilson.

Jake Bidwell: 7
The Bees skipper was given a tough test against Rajiv Van La Parra but came through it well, and also got forward to put in crosses. Made a timely clearance deep into injury time.

Toumani Diagouraga: 6
Made some good tackles but a little inconsistent with his passing and struggled when outnumbered in the second half.

Ryan Woods: 6
A little wasteful with his shooting, particularly late in the first half when he got underneath an effort from 15 yards, and went through a spell of giving the ball away too easily. Replaced five minutes from time by Sam Saunders.

Sergi Canos: 6
A bright first half, as he was involved in many of Brentford’s attacks, but faded after the break as Brighton restricted the space. Substituted on 75 minutes by Alan McCormack.

Alan Judge: 8
Another 90 minutes full of drive and purpose – all that was lacking was a cutting edge to create or score the winner. He was twice denied by Stockdale as the Bees pressed late on.

John Swift: 7
Like Canos, he was busy in the first half but the introduction of an extra man in the Brighton midfield at half-time stifled him a little.

Lasse Vibe: 6
Looked bright in the first 20 minutes but after that often struggled to make the ball stick. Once again came off for Philipp Hofmann.
