Blackburn v QPR player ratings

QPR threw away league points in the closing minutes for the fifth game in a row as they drew 1-1 at Blackburn. Here’s how we rated the Rangers players in the game at Ewood Park.

Joe Lumley: 7
Had put in an accomplished display on his league debut, fielding almost everything thrown at him. That was until he hesitated and then flapped under pressure from an attacker as Ben Marshall’s throw found Hope Akpan at the far post for the equaliser.

James Perch: 6
Did a decent job against the tricky Craig Conway and blocked on the line from point-blank range late in the first half. But he failed to react quick enough to do the same with Akpan’s header as it whistled past him.

Nedum Onuoha: 7
A solid display from the skipper who looks happier in his natural centre-back position than at right-back.

Grant Hall: 8
Although he was involved in some panicked defending at times – not just him but the rest of the back four – he also showed his class as well against a Rovers side with dangerous attackers.

Paul Konchesky: 6
Kept Elliott Bennett relatively quiet on his Blackburn debut and one cross helped set up a first-half chance for Sebastian Polter.

Alejandro Faurlin: 7
Provided a solid platform in the centre and went close with a free-kick in the second half.

Karl Henry: 6
Having worked to deny the Blackburn midfield time and space, he let himself down late on as he let Akpan drift away from him to score the equaliser.

Junior Hoilett: 7
Seemed very keen to impress on his old patch, delivering the cross for the Rangers goal and generally providing a threat on the flank. However, he was sometimes too keen and a couple of times went for shots when team-mates may have been better placed.

Matt Phillips: 8
Played in the centre just behind Polter and played a crucial role in the goal, dummying as he also tried to avoid a collision with Rovers keeper Jason Steele. Showed good aerial ability to create a chance for Polter in the first half, before running out of steam late on and making way for Michael Petrasso.

Leroy Fer: 7
Utilised on the left, cutting in, and it was from that position that he scored. It was a composed finish too, easy to miss having not expected it to arrive to him.

Sebastian Polter: 7
Had a very good first half, possibly his best in a Rangers shirt, showing good strength to hold the ball up and also being denied from close range by Steele. His influence waned as the game went on, though.
