Frank Lampard was unaware Chelsea had been drawn against Manchester United when he was asked for his thoughts on facing them in the Carabao Cup fourth round.

The Blues boss, whose side thrashed Grimsby 7-1 at Stamford Bridge, watched on television as United came through a penalty shootout against Rochdale before attending his post-match press conference.

Lampard didn’t realise Chelsea will face a home tie against United in the next round until he was asked for his reaction to the draw.

It was a good night for Chelsea, who won for the first time at home under Lampard, with Callum Hudson-Odoi returning to action and Reece James impressing on his debut.
