Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has suggested that Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s best position could be as a deep-lying midfielder.
And regardless of who plays in the role, the likes of online casino australia rate Chelsea’s chances of picking up silverware this season very highly.
Loftus-Cheek, recently back from injury, was deployed in the middle of a back three for this week’s FA Cup win at Luton.
He has often featured as an attacking midfielder, with his swashbuckling style enabling him to surge forward.
But Tuchel thinks the change of position against Luton highlighted Loftus-Cheek’s potential in a number six role.
Tuchel said: “It would not be the first time where a situation like this is the foundation for somebody finding a new position.
“He did very well in the middle of the back three. After a shy start he grew into the match and found his top performance, which helped us a lot.
“Still I think in the last 20 minutes, when he was in the number six position, I think this is his best position to have the most influence because then he can impose his dribbling and his driving with the ball a bit higher up the pitch.”
Tuchel also confirmed that Cesar Azpilicueta will miss Saturday’s game at Burnley because of injury.
