James and Rudiger could return for Chelsea at United

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel says he hopes to be able to include Reece James and Antonio Rudiger against Manchester United.

James sat out the recent win over West Ham because of a hamstring issue.

Rudiger, who is leaving the club this summer, has not been involved since the recent FA Cup semi-final win over Crystal Palace.

But both players trained on Wednesday and could feature in Thursday’s match at Old Trafford.

However, Mateo Kovacic remains sidelined along with Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ross Barkley is also unavailable and Andreas Christensen is a doubt.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Tuchel said both Barkley and Christensen were ill.

Tuchel explained: “Kova will still be out, Ben Chilwell is still out and Callum is still out.

“Toni and Reece have been in training. We have another training (session) and hopefully they can give us the green light.”
