Kovacic still struggling with hamstring problem

Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic will remain sidelined for Saturday’s game against Manchester City.

Kovacic is still recovering from the hamstring injury which has kept him out of recent matches – including the Champions League semi-final against his former club Real Madrid.


He could be available for next week’s match at home to Arsenal, but the FA Cup final against Leicester on 15 May seems like a more realistic target.

“Kova is out still, unfortunately,” Blues boss Tuchel said.

“We hope to bring him back back maybe for Arsenal and hopefully for Wembley.

“It will be tight for Arsenal but for tomorrow he is sure to be out.”
