Rudiger still out along with Kovacic

Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Antonio Rudiger will remain sidelined along with Mateo Kovacic for Chelsea’s home game against West Ham.

Callum Hudson-Odoi, who has been struggling with an Achilles problem, is also still out.

“They are not back but there are also no other injuries,” said head coach Tuchel, whose team have lost three consecutive home matches, conceding 11 goals in the process.

Having been beaten by Real Madrid and thrashed by Brentford, the Blues lost 4-2 to Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

Tuchel admits the poor form is a concern – but sees Sunday’s derby as a chance to make amends in front of their home fans.

“At the moment it’s a bit fragile in home games and there’s another home game coming and we have the chance to do better,” he said.

“It has obviously not been the level that we want to produce in home games. We’ve had a row of home games with similar results that we absolutely don’t like.

“It’s now the job to convince the players to keep on going and the supporters to keep on going and be positive.”
