Andreas Christensen, Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi look unlikely to return from injury for Chelsea’s FA Cup quarter-final against Middlesbrough.
None of the trio have been able to return to full training yet and the chances of them being involved at the Riverside Stadium this weekend look slim.
Blue boss Thomas Tuchel explained: “We have Reece, Callum and Andreas Christensen uncertain.
“They are in training but not yet in full training, so let’s see. There are still some checks to do.
“It can be a very tight race, and maybe it (the game) is a bit too close.”
Speaking at a press conference on Friday morning, Tuchel also dismissed speculation linking him with the manager’s job at Manchester United.
