Transfer gossip: Speculation over Chilwell’s future continues

Some of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea…

Manchester United are in ‘pole position’ to sign Ben Chilwell from Leicester, The Sun have declared.

England international Chilwell has long been linked with a move to Chelsea.

The Sun say United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to sign him and will battle with Chelsea and Manchester City.

Leicester are expected to demand a huge transfer fee for the left-back if approaches for him are made when the transfer window reopens.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has been tipped to bring in a left-back, with Emerson Palmieri expected to move on this summer and doubts too over the future of Marcos Alonso.

The Sun declare that Lampard was confident he would land Chilwell but suggest United are now favourites to snap him up.

The Sun have also picked up on more reports that Willian has been made a lucrative offer to join Tottenham.

The Brazilian’s Chelsea contract expires soon and Spurs’ former Blues boss Jose Mourinho is reported to be keen to sign him on a free transfer.

And the Daily Mail are among the UK newspapers to have picked up on reports in France claiming that Chelsea are tracking Monaco youngster Malamine Efekele – a 15-year-old who has been dubbed ‘the next ‘Kylian Mbappe’.
