Transfer gossip: Four Napoli men among several players Sarri is tipped to sign

Some of the recent transfer speculation involving Chelsea…

Maurizio Sarri continues to be tipped to take over as Chelsea manager – and to bring in players from his former club Napoli.

Sarri is still under contract at Napoli despite recently being replaced by former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti.

But the Blues, widely tipped to replace Antonio Conte as manager, are reportedly close to agreeing a compensation fee with Napoli for Sarri.

And the Daily Mirror say there have been discussions with Sarri’s agents over potential signings.

The Mirror say he wants to bring in four Napoli players who have release clauses in their contracts: forward Dries Mertens (£27m), full-back Elseid Hysaj (£23m), winger Jose Maria Callejon (£21m) and defender Raul Albiol (£5m).

The Independent recently ran a similar story, reporting that Sarri had lined up deals for Mertens, Callejon and Albiol but Faouzi Ghoulam rather than Hysaj.

Meanwhile, the Daily Express declare that Sarri wants to spend £140m to sign Mertens, Hysaj, Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani, Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino, Nice midfielder Jean Seri and perhaps Callejon – who has also been linked with AC Milan.

Dortmund keen on Morata, Bild say

Borussia Dortmund are keen to sign striker Alvaro Morata could be put off by the asking price, according to German newspaper Bild.

Chelsea are reported to be looking for £45m for the Spain international, who has also been linked with Juventus.
