Former Arsenal star Henry has reportedly impressed the Villa hierarchy at an interview.
And former Chelsea captain John Terry has been lined up for a coaching role at Villa and could return there regardless of whether Henry gets the top job or not.
Terry captained Villa last season after joining on a free transfer from Chelsea but left in the summer following their failure to win promotion.
He has since been linked with a return to Chelsea in a coaching role and a newspaper story recently claimed that Terry had agreed a return to Stamford Bridge to coach Blues’ development side.
