Injured Kante expected to miss Porto game

Thomas Tuchel expects N’Golo Kante to miss Wednesday’s Champions League game against Porto.

The Chelsea midfielder picked up a hamstring injury while on international duty with France and has not trained this week.

He will not be involved against West Brom on Saturday and Blues boss Tuchel believes Kante will “probably” remain sidelined for next week’s quarter-final first leg but could be available for the second leg.

On a brighter note for Chelsea, Thiago Silva is back in the squad after two months out with a thigh problem and Tuchel has no other injury concerns.

“Everybody else was out on the (training) pitch and all are available for tomorrow, which is good news,” said Tuchel.

“With N’Golo, we will have to be patient. Maybe the second game against Porto he could be available for.”
