Sarri unfazed by speculation over Hazard’s future

Maurizio Sarri has insisted he is unfazed by speculation that Zinedine Zidane’s return to Real Madrid makes it more likely Eden Hazard will want to join the Spanish club.

Hazard, whose Chelsea contract expires next year, has made no secret of his desire to play for Real.

He is said to idolise Zidane, who was tipped to replace the under-pressure Sarri at Chelsea before taking over for a second spell as Real boss.

Sarri was asked at a media conference on the eve of Chelsea’s Europa League game against Dynamo Kiev if he felt Zidane’s return to Madrid would sway Hazard.

Sarri said: “I don’t know. You will have to ask Hazard. At the moment I haven’t spoken to him about Zidane, so I don’t know.

“I am not worried. You know my opinion. I want in my team only players who want to play for Chelsea. So I cannot be worried.”

Gonzalo Higuain, who has been struggling with illness, did not travel with the Blues squad to Ukraine.
