Sarri is set to leave Chelsea – reports

Maurizio Sarri has told Chelsea that he wants to leave the club, according to reports in his native Italy.

Sarri is being tipped to take over at Juventus, with Chelsea reportedly ready to release him from his contract.

The 60-year-old faced criticism during a troubled spell as Blues head coach, but nevertheless guided the club back to the Champions League via a third-placed finish and won the Europa League.

He has said that he wants to remain at Chelsea, where he has two years left on his contract, and would prefer to stay in England were he to leave Stamford Bridge.

However, Italian media reports say the former Napoli boss is set to return to Serie A a year after taking over from Antonio Conte.

He said said to have told Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia at a meeting on Friday that he wants to go back to Italy for family reasons and would like the chance to manage Juve.
