Mateo Kovacic is expected to be available for Chelsea’s derby showdown with rivals Tottenham.

The on-loan Real Madrid midfielder missed Croatia’s recent game against England because of an ankle problem.

But he has trained fully this week and Blues boss Maurizio Sarri believes Kovacic is fit enough for this weekend’s game.

Sarri explained: “Kovacic is doing better. He had an ankle problem but yesterday he did training with the team and so I think he will be able to play.”

Speaking at a media conference on the eve of the match at Wembley, Sarri confirmed that Chelsea have no significant injury concerns following the recent international fixtures.

“No big problems,” said the Italian, whose side are unbeaten this season.

“As usual there are some little problems – somebody with a little injury or a little bit tired. But fortunately at the moment we have no big problems.”
