Rosenior insists relationship with Fernandez is good
Liam Rosenior insists his relationship with Enzo Fernandez is good, having spoken to the midfielder before Chelsea’s 7-0 thumping of Port Vale in the FA Cup.
Fernandez, who was at Stamford Bridge watching his team-mates dismantle their League One opponents, has been given a two-game club ban for hinting he wants to leave the club in the summer – a sanction his agent Javier Pastore called “completely unfair”.
“That’s his [Pastore’s] opinion,” Blues head coach Rosenior said. “I don’t have anything to say on that.
“Enzo knows what I think of him and it was brilliant to see him here to support the players today. We will move forward and make sure we have a really good run-in to the end of the season.
“Enzo’s a top top guy but I want to focus on the football. The conversations I have with my players – with Enzo and with anyone in the squad – stay within. The dressing room is sacred.
“In the right time and the right moment, which isn’t now, I am sure the discussion will happen. But we are in a very good place.
“We had a very good one-on-one conversation. I saw him today and things aren’t maybe what people think they are.”
