Rosenior dismisses reports linking PSG with Chelsea star Fernandez

Liam Rosenior has dismissed reports linking Paris St-Germain with Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

PSG are said to be looking to buy the Argentina international during this summer’s transfer window.

But Rosenior declared: “It means nothing to me.”

The Blues head coach added: “When you’re a world-class player, an outstanding player, there’s always going to be speculation you can’t control.

“He’s been outstanding in the time I’ve worked with him. I’m speaking on the realities of the situation, which is that he’s a Chelsea player.

“He’s very, very important to me. I think we’re going to have a really good, hopefully winning relationship moving forward – in the short term and the long term.”

Speaking on the eve of Chelsea’s Champions League game against Pafos, Rosenior suggested Fernandez is a doubt, having been laid low by illness and missed training earlier this week.

Rosenior was also reluctant to comment on Chelsea’s interest in Rennes’ France Under-21 defender Jeremy Jacquet.

The player is well known to Rosenior, who recently left French club Strasbourg.

“I don’t speak about players at other clubs until something is agreed with any player,” Rosenior said.

“I think it’s so disrespectful. If I were a manager of another team and a manager was speaking about my player, I wouldn’t be happy.”
