Chelsea keeper Kepa set for Real Madrid move

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Kepa Arrizabalga is set to leave Chelsea.

The goalkeeper is expected to return to his native Spain to join Real Madrid on loan.

As a result he was left out of the side for the match against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

Robert Sanchez, who was expected to be Kepa’s deputy following his recent move from Brighton, was duly handed a debut.

“With Kepa it is something that has happened very quickly,” said Blues head coach Pochettino.

“He has permission to explore a different situation and we will see what happens with that over the next 24 to 48 hours.”

Real are looking to bring in Kepa because former Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois has been sidelined by a long-term knee injury.
