Chelsea duo likely to miss Arsenal match

Pedro and Willian are set to miss Chelsea’s Premier League derby with Arsenal on Saturday.

Summer signing Pedro missed the Champions League win over Maccabi Tel Aviv through injury, while Willian limped off midway through the first half in the game.

Jose Mourinho appeared to rule the midfield pair out of the Arsenal match, while the fitness of Oscar – who played 65 minutes after returning from injury – will be monitored.

He said: “Tomorrow [Thursday], I will see how my players are. Willian is out for sure, Pedro is out for sure, I think”

However, Ruben Loftus-Cheek may be involved against the Gunners after impressing on his first Champions League start.

Mourinho said: “I think he played very well, which is very good for us.

“He is in contention to compete for opportunities, for minutes. He played already in the Premier League this season and now in the Champions League.

“He’s potentially a very good player but you have to feed these young players and choose the right moment. His evolution is important.”
