Oscar set to return for Chelsea but Falcao is ruled out

Oscar and Radamel Falcao of Chelsea
Oscar is set to return for Chelsea in their Champions League clash with Maccabi Tel Aviv but Radamel Falcao has been ruled out after picking up an injury in training.

Manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Oscar will be selected for Wednesday’s game even though he is not fully fit following a recent injury.

Recent signing Baba Rahman will also be included in the squad and is expected to make his Chelsea debut.

Oscar has returned to training, having not featured for the Blues since the draw at home to Swansea City on the opening day of the season.

Mourinho said: “Oscar is fit because he is not injured. Fit with top condition? No. But he will be involved in the game. He will be selected.”

Ramires, who has been out since being substituted in the defeat at Manchester City a month ago, also trained with the rest of the squad on Tuesday and is hoping to return.

Falcao, meanwhile, is unavailable for the game but is not expected to be sidelined for long.

Mourinho refused to give specific details about the Colombian striker’s injury but suggested that Falcao will be available for this weekend’s Premier League match against Arsenal.

“Falcao has a little problem with some tendon. It’s not important. It’s just for this game,” Mourinho said.
