Frank Lampard is waiting to hear whether he will be able to select Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori for Derby County in their Carabao Cup game at Chelsea.

Blues legend Lampard, who took over as Derby boss during the summer, is set for a return to Stamford Bridge after Chelsea were drawn to face the Championship side in round four.

Midfielder Mount and defender Tomori are on season-long loans from Chelsea.

Derbyshire Live reports that Lampard is currently unsure whether his former club will allow the pair to play in the tie.

“I am not sure. I think it is a conversation to be had and I think it is Chelsea-led because they are their players,” Chelsea’s all-time top goalscorer said.

“I cannot say too much until I have had that conversation. I am thinking, and I am pretty sure, it will be Chelsea’s decision.

“I think everyone knows what my decision would be, so it will be up to them.”
