No approach made for Wilson, says Howe

Eddie Howe has insisted that Bournemouth have received no approaches for Callum Wilson.

Chelsea have been linked with the England striker, particularly since Blues assistant boss Gianfranco Zola appeared to confirm the club’s interest in him.

There have been reports that Chelsea are willing to pay £50m for Wilson if a deal cannot be agreed for AC Milan’s on-loan Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain to move to Stamford Bridge.

However, speaking at a press conference on Friday morning, Bournemouth manager Howe said there has been no sign of concrete interest in Wilson, who has also been linked with West Ham.

“We’ve had no interest in any of our players,” said Howe.

“Everything has just been speculation, which you understand as this is the month for it.”
