Chelsea fans should not be concerned by the club’s lack of activity in the transfer market, Jose Mourinho has insisted.
Only striker Radamel Falcao and goalkeeper Asmir Begovic arrived to strengthen the Premier League champions in the close season, with other new signings Nathan and Danilo Pantic both going out on loan to Vitesse Arnhem.
However, in a week dominated by Mourinho’s much-publicised fall-out with two members of his medical staff, the Blues boss was in defiant mood and hinted that more new faces could still come in.
“If in this moment we are not top in relation to the spenders it doesn’t mean that people have to be worried,” Mourinho said ahead of Sunday’s Premier League game at big-spending Manchester City.
“First of all the transfer window is not closed. Second, you don’t always have to be champions in the market and, third, because we do things when we think we have to, and that it is the right thing to do.
“A couple of seasons ago we didn’t buy a striker because we knew Diego Costa was coming. Sometimes you have to think more than the moment and many times there is a reason why we don’t discuss and try to explain things publicly because we work on the inside.”
Mourinho insisted the club’s supporters should only have praise for the signings that owner Roman Abramovich has overseen since taking over in the summer of 2004.
“Since Mr Ambramovich bought the club the fans cannot speak in a bad way about the transfer market, only in a positive way and praise the owner and the board,” the Portuguese said.
“All the owner did for the club has been absolutely amazing and a fantastic contribution for the success the team had in previous years.”

pls JM pls we need some players to be replace in chelsea cos they are surplus to requirement.. Ramires have tired for chelseafc,i will never forget the great goal he scored in a crucial match against barca in new camp,but still we appreciate is great job he shld leave and to be replace by experience man EVER BENEGA OF SEVILLA who is the solution to our main problem in set pies which we dnt have any player who is perfect in that aspect since Lampard left,and also he can play any where he found him self in the mid field...also cuadruado is not the kind of play we need, we can be waiting for the dead to rise,he shld be replace by Barkley of Everton or Adruiz of Athletic bibao why falcao shld not play ahead of Remy interms of making sub cos Remy is very good in studing games good in second half football not a 90min player... but i will suggest falcao shld leave cos we dnt want him anymore when we seriously need him he denied us and move to monaco...so chelsea shld replace him with Chalie Austin of QPR he is a talented striker with ambition on the pitch,he can make things happen when we think is not possible..the happy one/the special one,i trust u...blues is the color
