Jose Mourinho has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association over his language and behaviour during Chelsea’s defeat at West Ham on Saturday.

The Blues boss was sent to the stands after going to speak to referee Jon Moss in the match official’s room at half-time.

Chelsea have been charged with failing to control their players, as have West Ham. Both clubs have until 29 October to respond.

Chelsea are already facing a £25,000 fine for receiving more than five bookings in the 2-1 defeat at Upton Park.

Nemanja Matic was sent off for two bookable offences and his team-mates Cesar Azpilicueta, Willian, Cesc Fabregas, John Mikel Obi and Diego Costa were also shown yellow cards.

Mourinho’s assistant Silvino Louro was also dismissed during the match and has been charged with misconduct in relation to his behaviour in the technical area.

Mourinho recently received a £50,000 fine and a suspended stadium ban, imposed for claiming after Chelsea’s home defeat by Southampton that officials were “afraid” to award his team penalties.
