Martinez conscious and in hospital after being carried off during Chelsea win

Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is conscious and in hospital having tests after suffering a head injury during the 2-0 win at Everton, manager Xabi Alonso has said.
Martinez and Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite collided heads while going for the ball in the 75th minute of the Premier League game.
Play was stopped for around 10 minutes while Martinez was attended to, and the 34-year-old was then taken off on a stretcher. Mike Penders replaced him.
Alonso said: “He left the stadium conscious. Right now he is in the hospital doing precautionary tests. Let’s see. That’s all I know so far.
“Hopefully it won’t be too bad, but we need to wait.”
Chelsea won the game through two goals from wing-back Pedro Neto, one soon after the restart and one at the end of the match.
