Late goal gives Blues friendly win

Malaysia XI 0 Chelsea 1

Chelsea needed a controversial goal to secure a narrow win in front of almost 85,000 fans in Kuala Lumpur.

The ball was adjudged to have crossed the line after Didier Drogba’s late free-kick struck the woodwork and then Malaysia XI goalkeeper Tarmizi Roslan.

It gave Chelsea the second 1-0 win of their pre-season campaign, following Saturday’s game at Portsmouth – which was also settled by an own goal.

The Blues made 11 substitutions at the break, with youngster Nathaniel Chalobahn partnering John Terry at the back in the second half.
