Jose furious at ‘four crucial moments’

A furious Jose Mourinho did not want to be drawn in to commenting on the four big moments that he felt cost Chelsea the chance of victory against Burnley.

The Blues were leading 1-0 through Branislav Ivanovic’s goal, but Nemanja Matic was sent off after 70 minutes after being on the receiving end of a nasty challenge from Ashley Barnes and Ben Mee’s late header earned point for the visitors.

Mourinho suggested that Barnes should have been sent off for jumping in to Ivanovic after 30 minutes and his side should also have had two penalties for a handball and a foul on Diego Costa before Matic saw red.

“This game had four crucial moments. Minute 30, 33, 42 and 69,” Mourinho said, but refused to go in to detail.

“I can’t go through the incidents. I am punished when I refer to these situations and I don’t want to be.

“To describe I have to use words that I cannot.”

Mourinho said the Matic dismissal for shoving Barnes after a horrible challenge by the Clarets attacker, should never have happened had referee Martin Atkinson acted in a “proper way”.

Mourinho said: “Minute 69 has a big relation with minute 30, because the player (Barnes) – if I can call him a player – that was involved in minute 69 was involved in minute 30. And normally in minute 31 he should be in the shower.

“So no minute 69 if the person in charge does it in a proper way in minute 30. But I prefer to finish here – minute 30, 33, 43 and 69 and this is the story of the game.”
