Martinez dismisses reports Stones could ask for move

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has dismissed reports suggesting that John Stones could hand in a transfer request. 

Newspaper reports on Monday suggested Stones, 21, was considering trying to force a move to Chelsea, who want to sign him from the Merseyside club.

Chelsea have already had two bids for the England centre-back rejected by Everton, who have repeatedly insisted he is not for sale.

When asked on Friday if he was aware of any transfer request by the player, Martinez said: “Not at all, no.”

Stones is expected to be included in Everton’s squad for their match against Manchester City on Sunday.
