Brown injury fears eased after Chelsea youngster limps off

Izzy Brown of Chelsea

Rotherham caretaker manager Paul Warne is confident a hamstring injury Izzy Brown picked up against Fulham is not serious.

Brown, on loan from Chelsea, went off during the first half of Rotherham’s 2-1 defeat at Craven Cottage.

But Warne said the 19-year-old was taken off as a precaution and could be fit for the Millers’ derby against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

“He said his hamstring tightened up. Hopefully he’s going to be okay for the weekend,” Warne said,

“There was no point taking a risk and him being out for a few weeks. It was more of a precaution.

“We’ll assess him tomorrow and hopefully on Thursday he’ll train.”
