Chelsea Under-18s thrash Swansea to go seven points clear

England Under-18 international Tariq Uwakwe (pictured) scored twice as Chelsea’s youngsters hammered Swansea City 5-0 on Thursday to move seven points clear at the top of the Under-18 Premier League.

There were also goals for Charlie Brown, Reece James and George McEachran in a resounding away victory for the young Blues.

They were two up at half-time after Uwakwe fired home after being set up by Callum Hudson-Odoi, who was also involved in the second goal.

Hudson-Odoi won the ball and found Brown, whose goal put the visitors in control.

The third arrived early in the second half courtesy of James’ finish from Cole Dasilva’s fine cross.

Chelsea continued to dominate and Uwakwe hit the bar with a free-kick before eventually making it 4-0 after Swansea were unable to clear Dasilva’s throw.

And McEachran capitalised on more poor Swansea defending to complete the rout and with a cool finish late on.
