Chelsea’s Gilmour plays in EFL Trophy game

Billy Gilmour featured for Chelsea’s development side as their involvement in this season’s EFL Trophy ended with a 4-3 defeat at Bristol Rovers.

Gilmour, back in action after a knee injury, played an hour of the game at the Memorial Ground, where Danny Drinkwater also played.

Tino Anjorin netted twice for the visitors, whose other goal was scored by Marcel Lewis.

Rovers won with a last-minute goal from Josh Hare, who headed in a cross from former Brentford youngster Zain Westbrooke.
