Antonio Conte quickly allayed any concerns that Alvaro Morata might have picked up an injury during Chelsea’s win against Everton.

Morata held an ice pack to his leg after being replaced by Michy Batshuayi 13 minutes from the end of the game at Stamford Bridge.

Asked if the striker had sustained an injury, Blues boss Conte said: “No, he’s ok. I changed him because I saw he was a bit tired and I wanted to give an opportunity to Batshuayi.”

First-half goals from Morata and Cesc Fabregas gave the champions 2-0 victory.

Morata’s header from Cesar Azpilicueta’s cross was his second goal in three Premier League appearances since his club-record move from Real Madrid this summer.

“Morata scored a very good goal and I am pleased for him,” said Conte.

“It is important when you are a striker and you arrive at a club to score and he has and he is improving.”

Meanwhile, Conte insisted Chelsea fans can be confident he is “fully committed” to the club despite some reports claiming he could quit if signings are not made ahead of Thursday’s deadline.
