Girma’s extra-time goal clinches quarter-final place for Chelsea

Naomi Girma’s goal in extra time gave Chelsea a 2-1 win against Manchester United and a place in the quarter-finals of the Women’s FA Cup.

Sam Kerr’s 78th-minute goal put the hosts ahead at Kingsmeadow, but Simi Awujo equalised for United three minutes later.

Chelsea were frustrated at times but regained the lead when their opponents were unable to deal with a set piece and Girma scored after pouncing on the loose ball.
