Four Chelsea players in England Under-21 squad

Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi, Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah and Marc Guehi have received England Under-21 call-ups along with Fulham’s Steven Sessegnon and goalkeeper Ellery Balcombe of Brentford.

The Young Lions will play Slovenia in Maribor on Friday 11 October before a European Championship qualifier against Austria in Milton Keynes on Tuesday 15 October.

QPR forward Ebere Eze, who was drafted into the squad last month having featured at Under-20 level, has not been included.

Hudson-Odoi and James have been called up following their respective returns to action after injury.

Chalobah is currently on loan at Huddersfield and defender Guehi has recently made the step up to Chelsea’s first team.

Their call-ups came the day after Tammy Abraham and Fikayko Tomori were included in the senior England squad along with their Chelsea team-mates Mason Mount and Ross Barkley.
