“I spoke with the doctor 10 minutes ago and we have no injuries at the moment.

“We had a little problem with Kovacic in the last match and also Alonso. But for the doctor they are able to play.

“Now we have to see in the last training session just in order to understand if there is somebody tired after the (Fulham) match.”

On whether Alonso’s injury caused his poor display against Fulham

“I don’t know. You cannot I think say that after the match.

“Maybe during the match the back wasn’t right. This is possible, I don’t know. I want to speak to him.

“He didn’t play very well. I know this very well and I think Alonso also knows very well that he didn’t play very well.

“Today we will see the reaction with the back, for the doctor, the back is better.”

On the futures of David Luiz and Cesc Fabregas

“I spoke with the club about this one month ago I know very well that it is not easy, but I think we can do a new deal for both.

“They are very important players for us. It is very difficult to find a centre-back for this level and a central midfielder technically like Fabregas. So I think they have to stay with us.”

On Chelsea’s policy of only offering one-year deals to players over the age of 30

“The deal is very difficult for this reason I think, because the club want a short contract and the players want a long contract.

“It is difficult for this reason but I think at the end we can find a solution.

“I think David and Cesc are leaders and so I think it is very important for me, the staff and their (team) mates that they stay with us.

“I know the difficulties of the new deal. The problem is only one year, two year or three or four years for the new contract.

“But I think the club will be able to find the right solution.”

On Cesar Azpilicueta’s new contract

“I think Azpilicueta is important for the club, for the staff and for his (team) mates). It’s very important. I’m very happy with the new contract for him.”

On reports Chelsea have made an offer for Christian Pulisic

“Pulisic is a player of Borussia Dortmund and I don’t want to talk about a player of another club. It’s not professional I think.”

On whether Ruben Loftus-Cheek might leave on loan

“I want him to stay with us. So I think there is no chance.

“He played some matches in the Europa League and League Cup. He played five or six matches in the Premier League without starting.

“At the moment he is very important for us. He had some problems to understand what I want but now he is improving and in the last two matches I was really very happy with him.”

On Wolves

“I expect a very difficult match because they are a very technical team. They have a lot of players who are very technical.

“They were unlucky in the last two matches. I think it’s not easy to play there.”
