Zouma not thinking about Chelsea future for now

Defender Kurt Zouma has insisted that his Chelsea career is not on his mind while he tries to help Stoke City avoid relegation from the Premier League.

The 23-year-old signed a five-year contract with the Blues in the summer before joining the Potters on a season-long loan deal.

Zouma, who was part of the Chelsea squad that won the league title in 2016-17, has made 33 appearances so far this term.

But Stoke are second from bottom, five points from safety with just four games remaining.

The France international told the Evening Standard he is not thinking about his Chelsea future “at the moment”.

“If I know I’m still in the Premier League [with Stoke] then I will see about the future,” he added. “But not now.

“I’m just focused on my team to try and keep them in the Premier League and win games – that’s the most important thing. It doesn’t matter about the rest at the moment.”

Zouma joined Chelsea from St Etienne for £12.5m in January 2014 and has played 71 times for the Blues.
