Lampard confirms Bakayoko and Kenedy could go

Frank Lampard has given a clear indication that Tiemoue Bakayoko and Kenedy will complete moves away from Chelsea in the coming days.

Neither player is in Blues boss Lampard’s first-team plans and both have been told they can leave.

Midfielder Bakayoko is wanted on loan by his former club Monaco, while Turkish side Galatasaray have also made enquiries and reports in Italy have suggested he could return to AC Milan, where he spent last season on loan.

Kenedy certainly appears to be heading to Italy, with Sassuolo keen to snap him up.

Kenedy was on loan at Newcastle last season

Asked at a news conference on Friday if the duo are likely to move before Monday’s European transfer deadline, Lampard said: “It’s a possibility. We are getting to the point now where the window is closing soon and I’m pretty clear on where my squad is.

“We have to see how they both develop in terms of Bakayoko and Kenedy, for sure. We’ll see how it goes.”

Meanwhile, Lampard confirmed that N’Golo Kante will remain sidelined for Saturday’s home match against Sheffield United.
