In pictures: Rampant Chelsea destroy Huddersfield

Chelsea thumped Huddersfield 5-0 at Stamford Bridge, with both Gonzalo Higuain and Eden Hazard grabbing two goals.

Higuain had already gone close to scoring his first Chelsea goal before he did just that, smashing in a fierce near-post strike following N’Golo Kante’s stunning pass to reward a bright beginning by the Blues.

And the Argentine clearly enjoyed his first goal in a Blues shirt.

Chelsea continued to have the upper hand but the second goal did not arrive until first-half injury-time when Cesar Azpilicueta burst towards the box and was brought down.

Huddersfield had a strong case for the foul being outside the box, but the penalty was awarded and Eden Hazard calmly found the corner.

After Willian went close to increasing the lead just after the interval, Hazard added a stylish third, rounding keeper Jonas Lossl and finishing from a tight angle.

With the result as good as decided, Higuain scored the goal of the game, bending the ball into the far corner from 20 yards after a slick team move.

And there was still time for the Brazilian combination of Willian and David Luiz to bring a fifth home goal, the latter heading home the former’s corner.
