Hazard: Chelsea need to be more attacking

Eden Hazard savoured Chelsea’s FA Cup triumph – but immediately suggested they need to play more attacking football if they are to improve next season.

Hazard’s first-half penalty gave the Blues a 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Wembley and meant they ended a troubled campaign with a trophy.

But Hazard told the BBC: “We scored one goal and it’s enough today, but I think if we want to win a lot of games we need to play better, because we just played defensively today.

“We were lucky to score one goal and that is the most important thing. In the final you just need to win and we won it, so we are just happy.”

There has been speculation over the futures of both Hazard and boss Antonio Conte.

There have been reports that relations between the pair have been frosty and that Conte will be replaced as manager this summer.

Asked for his thoughts on his future, Hazard said: “Now I’m just happy – to see the fans celebrate.

“We didn’t play a great season, but at least we finished well. That’s the important thing.”
