Chelsea’s Under-21s edged out by Saints

Chelsea’s youngsters lost 1-0 to holders Southampton in the Under-21 Premier League Cup on Wednesday evening.

Saints goalkeeper Fraser Foster returned to action after a serious knee injury and produced fine saves to keep the visitors at bay before and after Ryan Seager scored seven minutes into the second half.[phone][/phone]

Forster did brilliantly to claw away a header from Tammy Abraham (pictured) and to keep out an effort from Kasey Palmer.

Chelsea’s Under-21s are next in action on Monday, when they face Tottenham.
