Costa sent for scans after picking up injury

Costa has returned to form since Hiddink's appointment as boss

Chelsea striker Diego Costa was taken to hospital for scans on a leg injury after the 3-3 draw with Everton.

The Spain international went down in pain on the halfway line 10 minutes from the end and was replaced by Loic Remy.

Boss Guus Hiddink said Costa had injured his shin but the club were waiting to discover the extent of the damage.

He said: “He’s in hospital now. They will have a check with a scan.

“He was in a lot of pain. We hope he is coming out with no problems.”

Costa scored one and made one in the draw, which was secured by John Terry’s 97th-minute goal.
